BeMatrx tracks the relationships between your character and other community members. This adds depth to social interactions and affects how you experience the world.
Types of relationships
There are three types of relationships in BeMatrx:
- Friendship — Built through positive, supportive interactions
- Love — Built through romantic interactions
- Hate — Built through hostile or antagonistic interactions
Each relationship is tracked separately, so you can have both friendship and hate with the same person (think: a complicated history within a friendship).
How relationships grow
When you interact with another community member — send a message, visit them, collaborate at a venue — the corresponding relationship level changes. Positive interactions build friendship or love. Negative or hostile interactions build hate.
Two-sided relationships
Relationships are two-sided. Your friendship level with someone is tracked separately from their friendship level with you. This means relationships grow at each person's own pace.
Seeing your relationships
To view a relationship:
- Open the other community member's profile.
- The relationship indicator shows your current levels with them.
Ending a relationship
If you want to reset your relationship with a community member:
- Open their profile.
- Tap the menu icon.
- Tap
End Relationship.
After ending, all relationship levels are reset to zero. You may need to wait a cooldown period before you can rebuild a relationship with that community member.
Relationships and privacy
Other community members do not see the exact values of your relationships with them, but they can see general indicators (such as "close friend" or "enemy"). If you want more privacy over your social activity, consider adjusting your profile visibility. See Controlling who can see your profile.
If you're being harassed
If a community member is repeatedly building a negative relationship through hostile interactions, you can:
- Block them to stop all contact. See How to block users.
- Report their behavior. See How to report inappropriate content.
