You can edit or delete messages you've sent in BeMatrx chats. These features help you correct mistakes or remove content you didn't mean to send.
Editing a message
You can edit a message within 15 minutes after sending it:
- Tap and hold your message.
- Tap
Edit. - Make your changes.
- Tap
Save.
Edited messages show an Edited label so recipients know the message has been changed.
Time limit for editing
Editing is only available for a limited time after a message is sent. After that, the edit option is no longer available. If you need to correct a message after the time limit, send a new message instead.
Deleting a message
You can delete a message you've sent within 24 hours:
- Tap and hold the message.
- Tap
Delete. - Choose:
- Delete for me: The message is removed from your view only. Other participants will still see it.
- Delete for everyone: The message is removed for all participants. A placeholder showing that the message was deleted will appear.
Important notes
- Once a message is deleted for everyone, it cannot be recovered.
- Other participants may have seen or copied the message before it was deleted.
- Deleting a message does not delete any reactions or replies that were made to it.
