Introducing yourself
When you encounter another community member:
- Tap their profile to learn more about them.
- Consider following them if you're interested in seeing their content.
- Send them a message request to start a conversation. See About message requests.
Relationships
Interactions with other community members build relationships over time. BeMatrx tracks three types of relationships:
- Friendship — Built through positive, friendly interactions
- Love — Built through romantic interactions (where appropriate)
- Hate — Built through hostile or antagonistic interactions

Safety when meeting community members
Most of what happens in BeMatrx stays inside the app. One part does not: through BeLocal, users can offer and ask for practical help in the physical world — an airport pickup, a walk around the neighbourhood, help with a language or an official errand. BeLocal is closed at launch and opens afterwards. If you use it, treat it like meeting any stranger.
- Meet in public places, and tell someone you trust where you're going
- A verified account means we checked the account, not the person behind it — BeMatrx does not run background or identity checks
- End any interaction that feels off. You never owe anyone an explanation
- Never hand over cash, valuables, or documents, and never accept a package you haven't seen inside. These are prohibited on BeLocal
- Never share your home address, financial details, or identity documents
- In an emergency, contact your local emergency services first — BeMatrx cannot intervene in the physical world
